Netflix Is Bringing 'Love, Death and Robots' Back For A Second Season

Netflix‘s ‘Love, Death, and Robots’ was a surprise hit that seemed to come out of nowhere and is officially returning for a second season! Based on the short stories of a slew of talented authors, this set of animated shorts was the perfect show to get ‘Black Mirror’ fans through the long wait between seasons. Not only that, but they truly stood on their own as some fantastic stories.

The anthology series was created by Joshua Donen, David Fincher, Jennifer Miller, and Tim Miller and we’ve learned that Jennifer Yuh Nelson (‘Kung Fu Panda 2′,’The Darkest Minds’) is slated to be the showrunner for Volume 2 of the series. Just like the first season, we’ll see each episode deal with either love, death, or robots – sometimes with a combination of the three!

Nelson is a fantastic director who can help deliver a voice on the series that will appeal to women as one of the major complaints about Season 1 was the high level of male voices guiding the series. While I loved the show, it is easy to see where that complaint could understandably have been brought up for anyone who has seen it. There is a lack of diversity in most of the stories and in some cases a bit too much gratuitous nudity.

I do hope that the series will continue to feature work based on short stories moving forward.

Are you excited for a second season of ‘Love, Death, and Robots’? Do you think that they’ll continue the anthology format of these tales adapting short stories? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
