At this time we can only hazard guesses at what the upcoming ‘Loki’ series on Disney+ is going to be about but a few comments which have been made by The Russo Brothers have indicated that Captain America might be involved. Not only have they previously told us that Chris Evans might not be fully done with playing the part of Steve Rogers but a more recent interview has discussed Loki’s escape in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

According to Joe Russo:
“Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.”
Now, Loki does run with the Space Stone and not the Time Stone but even having a single Stone not where it should be could create a new reality from the science we were given by The Ancient One in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ We’ve also seen plenty of rumors popping up that this new show would feature Loki either traveling through time or telling stories about his various exploits throughout his history.
If time travel and the Space Stone is involved, it feels like the perfect set up as to why Cap is chasing him.
A previous interview, Joe Russo shared:
“I think it was more emotional for him than it was us because he’s not done yet. I won’t explain what that means, but fans will soon understand what I’m talking about.”
We already know that Captain America has to fix the timeline before he goes to live a full life with Peggy Carter and you can’t help but wonder if part of that will involve getting Loki to return the Power Stone to where it should have been. If Evans isn’t done with the role, this could be a great way to still show off Steve Rogers in his prime!
This is just conjecture, but with Captain America’s task at the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and the quotes above, it is easy to see how that could be part of the plot for the upcoming ‘Loki’ series.
