Check Out The Intense Final Trailer For Brightburn

‘Avengers: Endgame’ isn’t just the biggest movie of the year, but it is now the second-highest-grossing film of all time.  Superheroes are everywhere and fans can’t seem to get enough.  But the new horror movie ‘Brightburn’ takes the superhero conventions and twists them into a dark violent deconstruction.

Directed by David Yarovesky, and written by cousins Brian and Mark Gunn, ‘Brightburn’ stars Elizabeth Banks and David Denman as a well-meaning farm couple, Tori and Kyle Breyer, who find a mysterious baby in the woods and raise him as their son.  But this kid, whom they name Brandon (played by Jackson A. Dunn), is no Kal-El from Krypton.  As Yarovesky states, “Maybe adopting an alien baby you find in the woods isn’t the best idea.”

With the film opening this weekend, Screen Gems has released a final trailer.  It mostly includes footage previously seen in other clips, but it reinforces the terror and violence that this young Kid of Steel unleashes on his poor unsuspecting town of Brightburn.  Check it out below:

‘Brightburn’ boasts James Gunn as a producer.  He was approached to work on the project after being fired by Disney.  (He was later re-hired.)  It helps that Brian Gunn is James brother, and Mark is their cousin.

Regarding this dark film, James Gunn said:

“[‘Brightburn’ is] a great Memorial Day movie. Who doesn’t want to see an alien child on a murderous rampage as we begin our summer?”

‘Brightburn’ will be in your local theaters on May 24th, 2019!  Are you ready for some darkness in your summer?

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming
a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn,
the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling,
subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.
