One of the most startling changes that occurred “five years later” in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was the transformation of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner into a figure fans refer to as “Professor Hulk”– Banner’s genius mind inside of the Hulk’s powerful body.  Viewers were introduced to this new model Hulk during a low-key, mostly humorous scene in which Natasha (Scarlett Johansson), Cap (Chris Evans), and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) sit down to a hefty breakfast with Professor Hulk at a diner, to discuss their hair-brained time travel heist scheme after Tony Stark turned them down.

Now that ‘Endgame’ has been in theaters for over two weeks and 90% of humanity has seen it, Marvel is relaxing its security surrounding spoilers, and have actually released the Professor Hulk diner scene online, in association with ticket sellers Fandango.  Relive the scene below and perhaps, as Marvel Studios hopes, you will head back to the theater to watch the entire movie again!

Worldwide, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has made over $2 billion and is now the second-highest-grossing movie of all time (not adjusted for inflation), trailing only behind ‘Avatar’.  And the fact that the movie was a mixture of tragedy and drama with that signature Marvel humor is a big reason it’s such a hit.  The Hulk started out as a mindless rampaging monster, but over the course of several movies, he has evolved in new unexpected ways, and Professor Hulk appears to be the ultimate culmination of his journey.

It remains to be seen if The Hulk will be back in future films, as he was badly injured in ‘Endgame’.  But Mark Ruffalo’s performance is a crowdpleaser and fans would surely welcome future film appearances.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ is now playing in theaters everywhere.
