Chris Evans Accidentally Confirms An 'Avengers: Endgame' Fan Theory On 'The Late Show'

SPOILER ALERT: This contains information that may be considered SPOILERS for ‘Avengers: Endgame’, so if you don’t want to know any more, turn back now!

There is less than a week before ‘Avengers: Endgame’, fans only have a few more days to dodge SPOILERS.  But Chris Evans has accidentally confirmed a popular fan theory regarding the events of the picture.

The cast of ‘Endgame’ recorded a segment called “Just One Question” in which they answered queries from average people on the street.  As is the norm for talk shows, the actors attempted to respond with jokes, and that looks to be where Evans slipped up.  When asked “Who is the Avengers’ biggest enemy?” his cast members all responded, (quite literally) “Thanos.”

Hoping to maybe score a laugh, Evans replied:

“Honestly, I’d say chaffing.  If you’ve ever run through an interdimensional portal wearing a skintight bodysuit, you know what I mean.”

So, it turns out Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland aren’t the only Marvel security risks!

As it turns out, the widely-held belief that the Avengers will use the Quantum Realm to travel through time and prevent Thanos from ever acquiring the Infinity Stones is correct.  Of course, hints toward this were planted in prior movies, including ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’.  So this is really only a half-spoiler, as many astute fans had already come to this conclusion on their own.

Now it’s just a matter of days until fans find out exactly how the Avengers utilize the Quantum Realm and what sweeping changes are wrought due to their intervention.

If you’d like to watch all of the “Just One Question” segment featuring Chris Evans, Don Cheadle, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, and Jeremy Renner, you can find it below:
