With ten days left before ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Marvel is releasing one new poster a day until then, for a total of ten. They will be released via the Marvel Twitter account, and feature art by @SkinnerCreative. Check out the first poster, which depicts Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

As you can see, the top of the poster bears the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ logo and the main focus is on Thor, Cap, and Tony in full color in the center. But reflected below them in black and white are images of them as they appeared originally. Iron Man is shown in that lumbering contraption he cobbled together while trapped in a cave with Yinsen (Shaun Toub) and then used to escape. Captain America appears as the scrawny weakling he was when the Army rejected him, and before he was exposed to the Super Soldier serum. And Thor? Well, Thor had long hair.

It’s unknown what all ten posters will look like. Will subsequent posters continue this theme? It seems that would be trickier to do with other characters. Iron Man, Thor, and Cap were among the first Marvel Studios movie stars and have undergone more changes. It would be funny if, for The Hulk, there was a shot of Mark Ruffalo, with a reflection below him of Edward Norton. But how do you convey evolution for a relatively new character like Ant-Man, who kind of looks the same in every movie?
Well, I guess we have ten days to find out.
The movie event of the year, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will bombard theaters on April 26.
