While Harbour has had a lengthy, diverse career (‘Kinsey’, ‘Brokeback Mountain’), his breakthrough role was as Police Chief Jim Hopper on Netflix’s hit ‘Stranger Things’.  He will be back in that role in July when Season 3 is released.  ‘Black Widow’ won’t be his first comic book movie, as he made a small appearance in ‘Suicide Squad’, and will star in the upcoming ‘Hellboy’ on April 12.  He will also be seen in the action movie ‘Dhaka’ with Chris Hemsworth and Golshifteh Farahani.

It was not announced who Harbour will play in ‘Black Widow’, but rumors have abounded that Taskmaster and Red Guardians could factor in as the film’s bad guy(s).  There has also been buzz that “evil Black Widow” Yelena Belova could appear.  It is believed that this movie will explore Natasha Romanoff’s days growing up in the Soviet Red Room and working for the KGB before escaping and joining S.H.I.E.L.D. after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Marvel had tentatively scheduled ‘Black Widow’ to be released on May 1, 2020, but it looks as though it has been pulled from that date.  But if it begins filming soon, it could still make it to theaters around that same time next year.

It remains to be seen how ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will impact ‘Black Widow’, but this will be one of the first Marvel movies to follow this year’s massive event film.

What do you think of this cast so far?  Who would you like to see Harbour playing in ‘Black Widow’?
