We’ve known that a new take on Coulson by Clark Gregg was set to debut on Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ and this new teaser clip from Season 6 may have revealed how it will happen! It doesn’t give a clear detail as to who he is or what he is actually up to but does seem to show how he might be arriving onto the series. Not only that but new details for the upcoming season have emerged from this year’s WonderCon!

So it would appear that while May almost gets knocked out by a semi that it ends up being Coulson behind the wheel. Not only that, but the truck does seem to come out from a storm in a flash of light which would indicate it is coming from somewhere else entirely.
When S.H.I.E.L.D. is mentioned in front of him, he casually responds with “never heard of it” before shooting a nameless agent. This appears to give us a hint that this Coulson is from a different universe or timeline because the casual citizen of this world is more than aware of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Iron Man villain Controller was introduced in this issue which is likely who they are referring to. Of the upcoming season, it was later mentioned that “Also: Dives into the weird and cosmic stuff even more. VFX budget looks bigger.”
