Anna Diop a.k.a. Starfire has shared a photo on Instagram commemorating her last day on the set of ‘Titans’ and she is wearing a new costume. Presumably, this is an older photo, as Season 1 is already available in its entirety. It doesn’t appear that Season 2 has begun filming, as casting is still underway.
As for Diop’s Starfire, she was hands down the worst designed superhero on TV.
Despite early reports that she ditched the “space hooker” outfit after the first few scenes, Diop wound up wearing it through most of Season 1. Thinking it was a temporary costume referencing the way the character appeared in the ‘Teen Titans’ cartoon, this shiny purple minidress with fur coat and thigh-high boots seemed amusing. But when she failed to change out of it, despite the fact that the characters were supposed to be laying low, under the radar, it became ridiculous.
Eventually, she did toss out the dress, only to don an even more absurd bellbottom jumpsuit, in the same loud metallic violet. Plus she kept the trashy fur coat.
I haven’t even mentioned the hair. But after viewing comments on social media, when heterosexual males complain about a bad wig, GURL, YOU KNOW THAT’S A BAD WIG!!!
That brings us to the picture shared on Instagram, which seems to depict Diop in a new, more practical costume.

In all honesty, this looks more like the costume worn by Starfire’s sister, Blackfire on various cartoons.
But at this point, anything is better than Starfire looking like the lead ‘Solid Gold’ dancer in every episode. (The hair’s still the same, though.)
DC Universe hasn’t announced when ‘Titans’ S2 will premiere. The service is currently offering ‘Doom Patrol’, and still has ‘Swamp Thing’, ‘Stargirl’, and the animated ‘Harley Quinn’ to unveil. Then again, *gasp* they could start offering more than one new series at a time. Wouldn’t that be something?
S1 of ‘Titans’ will be released digitally on March 21. There will be a DVD/Blu-Ray release, but the date for that hasn’t been announced, but it is expected shortly before S2 arrives.
