Things look bleak for the aspiring heroes of ‘The Gifted’ as they move into next week’s season finale.  Polaris and Andy left the Inner Circle, who are preparing to establish a mutant utopia.  Meanwhile, Reeva and Benedict Ryan attacked the Morlocks and killed many of them, and possibly Blink as well.

At least one hero survived, however, and that is Thunderbird (Blair Redford), although he’s looked better before.  Word has surfaced that John Proudstar will don a costume based on his comic book uniform– described as his “Warrior Look”– in the season finale.

You can take another look below:

Okay, it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say that this outfit– which is just normal clothes– is based on his comic book appearance.  Yes, he is wearing red and blue, but those are probably the two most common colors for clothes period.  The only unusual element is the face makeup, which, yeah, kind of looks like a mask.

Anyway, John mourned Blink and the Morlocks in the last episode, but now he is channeling his pain into action by taking the fight to the Inner Circle.

The last episode of Season Two is entitled ‘oMens’ and here is the synopsis:

Reeva prepares to carry out her plan for the Inner Circle, but not everyone is on the same page. Reed struggles to manage his powers and the family realizes that without enough of the serum, it’s only a matter of time before he completely loses control. Frustrated and egged on by Benedict Ryan, Jace and the Purifiers are on the attack, but for Jace, things aren’t as black and white as they once were in the all-new “oMens” season finale episode of The Gifted.

This season has been building to a war between humans and mutants, with Reeva, Jace Turner, and Benedict Ryan pulling the strings behind-the-scenes.

Matt Nix, who created the show, has confessed that he doesn’t think FOX will order a third season, so whatever happens in this final episode could be it for these mutants.  But Nix has hopes that a streaming service, like Hulu, which already offers existing episodes, will order more.

The Season Two finale, ‘oMens’ will air on FOX next Tuesday, February 26, at 9 pm EST.
