Good Omens

With Neil Gaiman’s ‘Good Omens’ set to premiere on Amazon at the end of May (May 31st to be exact), promotion has begun for the highly anticipated new show, starting with releasing the opening credits for the new series. And it seems like Gaiman and company are really stretching their creative muscles for every aspect of the show, including the credits, which have the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the demon Crowley (David Tennant) taking form as paper cut-outs as they head around the world trying to stop the apocalypse that the series is based around, heading from tropical locales to burning cities, to underwater, to what appears to be hell itself.

For fans of the source novel by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it is chock full of colorful imagery and Easter eggs and gives some amazing insight into the kind of tone and atmosphere the series is going for, not to mention giving us a taste of the kind of music the show will have. Plus, with the whole thing running around 1 minute and 40 seconds, which is quite a bit longer than most opening credits nowadays, it cements the fact that Gaiman is clearly doing the show his own way, with his own style, which may yield some very interesting and exciting results.

Check out the opening credits for yourself below, and feel free to share your thoughts on the new series and the style of the show in the comments below!
