the passage

There has been a spattering of news about Fox’s upcoming vampire series ‘The Passage’ and we’ve got photos from the first episode to share with you as well as the synopsis of the first three episodes! Ridley Scott is producing this new series based on Justin Cronin’s best-selling fantasy book trilogy and has Mark-Paul Gosselaar in the leading role. The show lets us know about a new virus which has been created that has the potential to save or destroy all of humanity, and by destroy we mean that there is a rather strong vampire-theme at play.

The synopsis of “Pilot” is described below:

Based on the best-selling trilogy, THE PASSAGE centers on Project NOAH, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. As an imminent flu epidemic threatens the U.S., Federal Agent Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) is the man tasked with bringing in the experiment’s latest chosen test subject, a ten-year-old girl, Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney). But, after meeting Amy, Brad’s loyalties to Project NOAH are tested and ultimately, he tries to protect her at any cost. Written by Liz Heldens, directed by Marcos Siega and Jason Ensler.

Along with the synopsis, Fox has released a pile of new images that you can enjoy right here!

In Episode 2 titled “You Owe Me a Unicorn,” it looks like we’ll find out more about that mysterious virus:

A wounded Brad and Amy continue on the run from Richards (Vincent Piazza) and attempt to seek refuge with an elusive, ex-military instructor of Brad’s (guest star Kecia Lewis), while Lila tries to help from afar. Meanwhile, at Project NOAH, Dr. Lear (Henry Ian Cusick) reflects on the decisions that compelled him to involve Fanning (Jamie McShane) in his research, and testing of the virus on Anthony Carter (McKinley Belcher III) begins, as the epidemic in China spreads, and the race for a cure intensifies. Written by Liz Heldens, directed by Jason Ensler.

Finally, here’s what the third episode “That Never Should Have Happened To You” will be about:

After being brought to Project NOAH, Brad strikes a deal with Sykes (Caroline Chikezie) and Richards to stay with Amy as testing of the virus on her begins. Meanwhile, on 4B, Richards makes a decision about Babcock (Brianne Howey) that leads him to learn how she ended up on death row, to begin with. Written by Peter Elkoff, directed by Jason Ensler.

It looks like we’ll be getting a ton of action and drama about the mysterious Project NOAH right off the bat, and it will continue strong for at least the first three episodes.
