Doom Patrol

Episode 4 of ‘Titans’ arrives on DC Universe this Friday and is entitled ‘Doom Patrol’, signifying the introduction of “The World’s Strangest Heroes.”  We got a preview this past weekend, when some images, mostly of lower quality, surfaced, but now, five new, higher-quality pictures have arrived.

Rachel (Teagan Croft) met Gar Logan, a.k.a. Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) last week at the local roller rink/arcade.  Sparks flew and it seems these two manage to find each other again in the next episode.  In the first photo, Rachel is seen having dinner with Gar and his surrogate family, Robotman/Cliff Steele (Jake Michaels), Elasti-Woman/Rita Farr (April Bowlby), and Negative Man/Larry Trainor (Dwain Murphy).  From a distance, the table looks to be set with a normal meal, but in front of Robot Man, there looks to be a man made of onion rings.  We’ll have to wait and see how (and why) Robotman and Negative Man eat.

At some point, Robin (Brenton Thwaites) and Starfire (Anna Diop) show up, and it looks like they’re just in time for some action.

Here, the Doom Patrol appears to be preparing to operate on or examine Rachel, perhaps to determine the nature of her abilities, which are still a mystery to her.  It’s also possible that some harm befalls her and the group is helping to save her.

Here, we see the final piece of the Doom Patrol puzzle, Niles Caulder (Bruno Bichir) however, the figure on the operating table is clearly not Raven, but it is someone that she seems to care about.  She looks as though she has been burned, which may be the doing of Starfire.

It’s unclear how many episodes of ‘Titans’ will feature the Doom Patrol, but Bichir is reportedly a recurring cast member, meaning he will appear in multiple chapters.

DC Universe has already ordered a second season of ‘Titans’ and a spin-off starring the ‘Doom Patrol’.  On that series, only Bowlby will return.  The other characters have been recast.  ‘Doom Patrol’ is expected to become available in February.

New episodes of ‘Titans’ are available each Friday on DC Universe.
