Patrick Wilson Vera Farmiga Annabelle 3

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are confirmed to be reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren in ‘Annabelle 3’.  This will be the first time that The Warrens will pop up outside of the core ‘The Conjuring’ movies, which they have headlined for two pictures.  ‘The Conjuring’ films have spawned multiple spin-offs, including the ‘Annabelle’ movies, ‘The Nun’ and the in-development ‘The Crooked Man’.  ‘The Conjuring’ films are based on the real-life Ed and Lorraine Warren, who actually worked as paranormal investigators.  Their work and writings previously inspired the ‘Amityville Horror’ film series.

The Warrens will be supporting characters in this new picture, which is summarized below:

[‘Annabelle 3’] picks up with the Warrens bringing the Annabelle doll to a place where she can no longer wreak havoc: their Artifacts Room. Annabelle awakens the room’s evil which sets its sights on a new target: the Warrens’ ten year old daughter Judy. The young girl, along with her teenage babysitter cousin and the cousin’s friend, square off against the evil doll.

Mckenna Grace, who can currently be seen in the Netflix miniseries ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ will star as Judy.  Madison Iseman, who starred in ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ and can currently be seen in ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ has also been cast, presumably as the babysitter.

The unnamed ‘Annabelle’ movie will mark the directing debut of Gary Dauberman, who wrote and executive produced ‘The Nun’.  He also penned the screenplays for ‘Annabelle’ and ‘Annabelle: Creation’, as well as the ‘It’ movies.

In addition to the ‘Conjuring’ movies, Wilson heads up the ‘Insidious’ franchise.  He will next be seen in December’s ‘Aquaman’, directed by James Wan, who also directed the two ‘Conjuring’ installments.  Wan will serve as a producer of ‘Annabelle 3’.  Farmiga will next be seen in the sci-fi thriller ‘Captive State’ due out in March 2019, and ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ in May.

Presumably, this film will begin production soon, as it is scheduled to hit theaters on July 3, 2019.
