After firing James Gunn as the director, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ was delayed before being put on “on hold indefinitely” and now might be losing one of its stars. Dave Bautista who plays Drax the Destroyer in the franchise has been clear with his thoughts on Disney letting James Gunn go and is potentially willing to lose his job and pay some hefty fines to get out of his contract for the final film he is slated to be a part of.
Bautista was recently asked about where the franchise was heading with the delays, and he responded:
“It’s a bitter-sweet conversation — um, no it’s a bitter-bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn.”
He went further into detail when discussing his thoughts on the company who fired his friend stating:
“They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely. To be honest with you I don’t know if I want to work for Disney… I’ve been very vocal about the way I feel. I’m not afraid to admit the way I feel.”
Previously the actor said he would return for the endcap of this trilogy as it was something that he is “legally obligated to do” but that no longer seems to be as set in stone as it once was.
