We’ve seen DC and Marvel fans going at one another for years, but a new twist in this timeless tale of fandom has been born from Joe Manganiello questioning Vin Diesel’s street cred when it comes to the world of geekdom. While the question seems like it must involve comic book fandoms (after all, Manganiello briefly played Deathstroke at the tail end of ‘Justice League’ while Diesel has not only been voicing Groot for multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but is also about to portray ‘Bloodshot’ as well), that wouldn’t be further from the truth. It is Diesel’s love for ‘Dungeons & Dragons‘ that Manganiello is calling out.
For those of you who haven’t followed Diesel’s love of the game, he claims to have taught Judi Dench how to play the game on the set of ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ and has mentioned it sporadically over the years. However, Manganiello doesn’t feel this is accurate. The details came out on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ where the actor shared details about an ongoing game with those in the industry which he invited Colbert to join. This lead into the host acting if Manganiello had ever played with Diesel:
“He does, but I don’t know anyone who plays with him. And believe me, I would know! I would know.”
It isn’t clear if Diesel and Manganiello don’t play in the same circles or if the actor just hasn’t been playing as much in recent years. Either way, it sounds like the knowledge of these two would best be tested at the hands of a GM.

Do you think that Joe Manganiello is going to have his agent call Vin Diesel’s for these two to have a proper Dungeons & Dragons game to sort this out? Could this all be an elaborate setup to get another player into Manganiello’s ongoing D&D campaign? Share your thoughts below!
