Time jumps are common in television these days and Syfy is going to be using one for the second season of the Superman prequel series ‘Krypton.’ While that could largely benefit the show, another piece of news which is surfaced will likely really have fans talking as we’re going to get our first look at a live-action version of Lobo! All of these details came during the panel for the series at San Diego Comic-Con.
What is interesting about the time jump is that we already saw a small one occur in the season finale of the freshmen outing of the show. Not only that, but it appears that the changes to history which Adam Strange has tried to prevent has failed. Seg is trapped in the Phantom Zone and Superman’s cape no longer has the sigil for the House of El but now has the House of Zod instead.
Showrunner Cameron Welsh shares that we’re in for another four to five month jump when the series returns. When it does, Seg will still be trapped and things will be very different for those who are fighting for a better world:
“The Krypton we come back to in Season 2 is vastly different. Zod has knowledge of the future, and that feeds into his actions in our present day.”
However, it is the news of Lobo that will have many excited. This will be the first live-action outing with the intergalactic mercenary and bounty hunter which fans have wanted to see for years.
I’m a little worried if ‘Krypton’ will be able to do him justice. While you might think that Doomsday, Zod, or Brainiac would be the primary villain in the upcoming season, it looks like Lobo will be the one we see our hero at odds with. No casting has been revealed at this time.
Warner Bros. tends to not share their cinematic and televised live-action characters which makes you wonder if the movie which Michael Bay was said to be working on is still happening.
Are you excited to finally see a live-action version of Lobo? Do you think that the serious nature of ‘Krypton’ will allow the writers to write the character as he has been portrayed in the comics?
