While production is ramping up for ‘IT: Chapter Two,’ the studio has added two new cast members to join in the spooky fun!
Reports reveal that Xavier Dolan (‘The Death’) and Will Beinbrink (‘Queen of the South’) will play the roles of Adrian Mellon and Tom Rogan. The two join James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley, Jay Ryan as Ben and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, and of course Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise.
Warning: Minor potential spoilers for the sequel ahead! Continue at your own risk, Georgie!
Beinbrink’s character Rogan is Beverly’s husband, who is abusive and resembles younger Beverly’s father in his demeanor. Rogan will play an important role in the older characters’ timeline and is not safe from the clutches of Pennywise.
Dolan’s character is not connected to the Losers Club but is just as important to the overall story. He and his partner Don Hagarty are a gay couple living in Derry. While the town has an overall anti-homosexual attitude, the two love how quaint it is and continue to live there. They have a not so great encounter while attending the town fair and it does not end well. Pennywise also gets to terrorize these two.
While all of this information comes from Stephen King’s original novel, it could be completely different in the film adaptation. ‘IT: Chapter Two’ will take place in the present day, 27 years after the Losers’ Club kicked some Pennywise ass in the sewers of Derry.
Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee and Dan Lin return as producers, for ‘IT Chapter 2,’ and the screenplay is written by Gary Dauberman. Don’t miss the sequel when it hits theaters September 6, 2019.
