Mark Hamill and Stan Lee will provide voices for the upcoming season of the ‘Avengers Assemble’ animated series, which will be fully titled ‘Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest’. Lee will provide one of his famous cameos while Hamill will reprise his role as the villain Arnim Zola. The new season premiers this fall on Disney XD.
In “Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest,” the Black Panther must decide his loyalties. Is he an Avenger first or King of Wakanda? As the mysterious Shadow Council rises to challenge Wakanda, T’Challa teams up with his sister Shuri to go on missions that no other Avenger can. It’s a globe-trotting journey of espionage and mystery as old foes resurface and new friends are made. In the end, Black Panther must balance defending his home and stopping threats before they start. Is he a sword or a shield? Only he can decide.
In the following behind the scenes video, you can hear Hamill and Lee discuss being part of the Marvel Universe, voice acting, and more:
‘Avengers Assemble’ launched in 2013 as an animated series to more closely reflect the Marvel Cinematic Universe, replacing ‘Avengers: The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ which was more closely based on the comics. The voice cast also includes Roger Craig Smith as Captain America, Frank Tatasciore as the Hulk (as well as Black Bolt, Crossbones and others), Troy Baker as Hawkeye and Loki, Travis Willingham as Thor, Bumper Robinson as the Falcon, Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man, Laura Bailey as Black Widow, David Kaye as J.A.R.V.I.S., The Vision and Baron Zemo, James Mathis III as Black Panther and Heimdal, Grey Griffin as Captain Marvel, Grant George as Ant-Man, Kari Wahlgren as the Wasp and more. The series has also featured a crossover with the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and appearances by the Inhumans, Squadron Supreme, and more. Previous guest stars include J.K. Simmons reprising his live-action role as J. Jonah Jameson and Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter.
Disney has not announced a start date for the sixth season of ‘Avengers Assemble’, but look for updates as it grows closer.
