The new teaser for tomorrow’s trailer release for ‘Halloween‘ expands on the last one as this one delivers actual footage from the movie. There isn’t a lot here, but it gives us a few shots of Jamie Lee Curtis as she reprises her iconic role of Laurie Strode. Not only that, but she’s “waited for him” as “he’s waited for” her, and now it is time to take the fight to Michael Meyers!

The new film isn’t a reboot of the franchise as Rob Zombie’s was but a direct sequel to the original John Carpenter film. Only, it seems to have erased all of the movies that took place between that one and this one from canon. Some may still end up being officially part of the franchise, but early comments from staff also have made this sound as if it would be the endcap of the series.
You almost have to feel surprised that they would take the opportunity to do a soft reboot of a franchise and not use it to make a further series based off of it. Of course, we won’t really know what the plan is until the end credits roll.
An extended description of the movie describes it as:
A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.
In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).
Are you stoked to see the new take on ‘Halloween’ that is coming? Do you feel that this will live up to fan expectations from the original series or will we get another mixed set of reviews as we did from Rob Zombie’s films? Share your thoughts below!
Michael Meyers will be returning to Haddonfield to give us another night of terror on October 19th, 2018!
