Fan theories are fun as we all like to guess as to what is actually going on when a mystery is presented but one fan theory about where we’ll find the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been debunked. Honestly, the concept was so crazy that it clearly couldn’t be accurate, even as with the new reveals it kept seeming to be.
Thankfully, ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are putting it to rest.
The theory itself is that the name THANOS is actually a hint at where all of the stones are being concealed. We’ll just ignore their long history which was hinted at so far from the ongoing films. Here is the breakdown of how the rumor ended up being “true” so far.
- T – The Space Stone is the Tesseract
- H – Where are you that involves an H, Soul Stone?!
- A – The Reality Stone is the Aether
- N – The Time Stone is in Doctor Strange’s Necklace
- O – The Power Stone is in the Orb
- S – The Mind Stone is in Loki’s Scepter
This leaves the H still unaccounted for. As you can see, this is a huge stretch as to how they are all connected to one another. Even in a cinematic universe where “It’s all connected.”
McFeely was asked about this theory in a recent interview where he stated that “That seems fairly random” where Markus added, “I don’t think that’s how you go about writing a good script.”
McFeely continued that “It really isn’t. ‘You know, it’d be great to put the soul stone here but it’s not an O,’ or whatever the hell it is.”
Where Markus finally finished the thought, probably laughing while saying it, “We need an O planet.” Technically an H but we’ll forgive them for not knowing where in this crazy anagram of Thanos’ name we were at.
Are you happy that this crazy theory about where the Infinity Stones were being kept has been debunked?
