We know that ‘Deadpool 2‘ recently went in for reshoots and a rumor sprang up that Jack Kesy‘s character was completely cut from the film. Co-writer Rhett Reese took to Twitter to stop this rumor from spreading further by simply saying that it was “untrue”. He didn’t expand if Kesy’s character stayed intact or had his screen time changed at all, but we do know that he’ll at least still be part of the movie.

Here is Rhett sharing the details:

So, “untrue” it is! We’ll still be seeing Kesy in the movie. It hasn’t been officially announced what his role might be as of yet, but another ongoing rumor has placed him as the villain Black Tom. Not the most famous of X-Men villains, Black Tom Cassidy, has the ability to manipulate and bond with plants to both keep himself safe and shoot energy projections through them. If anything, Cassidy is most known for being partners in crime with Juggernaut for quite some time, and the two have long had a close friendship until he lost his grip on sanity.

The initial reasons that were hinted at for new reshots for ‘Deadpool 2′ were to add and not take away with new or expanded scenes that included Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beets’ Domino. This could mean we’ll be seeing less of whoever Kesy is playing but at least we know his character makes the final cut for the film. Personally, I think we can all agree that we’d probably prefer a longer ‘Deadpool’ movie if it can capture the humor, heart, and action of the first outing.

Are you happy to hear that we won’t see Jack Kesy completely removed from ‘Deadpool 2’? Do you care if Black Tom gets any kind of screen time or do you hope that he’ll be playing someone else? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
