With ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ less than two months away from release, the publicity machine is ramping up and ‘Entertainment Weekly’ is going all out with an astounding 15 variant covers for its next issue. The 15 different covers feature startling configurations of 23 different character. Like in the comics, it appears part of the appeal of ‘Infinity War’ will be seeing strange combos of characters you would never expect to see together… or maybe the placement was just random. Either way, the covers mix and match such startling team-ups as Nebula and the Scarlet Witch, Shuri and The Vision, and Mantis and the Winter Soldier. Will these characters actually interact in the film? That remains to be seen.
It should be noted that the bigger characters get their own covers. And that’s “bigger” in both size– Thanos, The Hulk– as well as in popularity– Spider-Man, newly minted box office titan Black Panther, each of the original Avengers.
These covers also give us a great look at some of the new costumes. As glimpsed, the star on Captain America’s chest is now black, perhaps for stealth reasons. Spider-Man is decked out in his Iron Spider armor. Iron Man is rocking a brand new, completely different suit with… are those wings? What are those things on his hands?

Of course, there are a couple of people left out. Ant-Man isn’t shown. And it’s a little weird that all of the Guardians of the Galaxy are present, even the newer ones Nebula and Mantis, but as usual Hawkeye, one of the founding Avengers, gets no love.
If you acquire all of the covers, when they are placed together they form an outline of the Avengers “A” logo.
Will you be collecting them all? Which one is your favorite?
