the limitSTXSurreal is set to give us a new VR series titled ‘The Limit’ but is doing so by bringing some big names to the table! Both Robert Rodriguez And Michelle Rodriguez are attached to the project! (For the record, the two are not related.) Robert is set to not only direct the series but will serve as a writer and producer as well.  The new show will debut on STX’s pay-per-experience VR channel Surreal that is being released in the middle of this year.

In ‘The Limit’ we’ll see Michelle’s character as “a genetically enhanced weapon of mass destruction hellbent on destroying the covert agency that created her.” This plot sounds like it could make for a fascinating point of view story that will likely be quite action-packed with Robert at the helm.

Racer Max (‘The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D’) will be co-writing the script. Racer’s last name is Rodriguez, and unlike Michelle, he is related to Robert. It’s always good to be able to see a father and son work together.

The entire series is a new way of filmmaking and is being developed from the offset as a “new cinematic VR format that bridges the gap between traditional widescreen and 360-degree video.” The show began production last month and has just wrapped so I’m sure we can expect some promotional material from a logo to a trailer in the next month or two.

No word as to the episode count or the runtime for each installment.

Are you excited to check out ‘The Limit’ when it gets a release later this year? Do you think that the switch to VR entertainment is finally happening or will this still be a highly niche market? Share your thoughts below!
