mute

Fans of ‘Moon’ have been waiting for Duncan Jones‘ ‘Mute’ for a couple of years ever since we found out Netflix was releasing the film and now the trailer is out! This movie is Jones’ passion project which has been in the works for almost 12 years. After the release of  some brief footage and a few fantastic looking stills, we now can get an idea of what to expect in this highly anticipated film!

You can check out the trailer right here!

Berlin, the future, but close enough to feel familiar: In this loud, often brutal city, Leo (Alexander Skarsgård) – unable to speak from a childhood accident – searches for his missing girlfriend,
the love of his life, his salvation, through dark streets, frenzied plazas, and the full spectrum of
the cities shadow-dwellers. As he seeks answers, Leo finds himself mixed up with Cactus Bill (Paul Rudd) and Duck (Justin Theroux), a pair of irreverent US army surgeons on a mission all their
own. This soulful sci-fi journey from filmmaker Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code, Warcraft)
imagines a world of strange currencies in which echoes of love and humanity are still worth
listening to.

Honestly, this looks spectacular. I’ve been a huge fan of Duncan Jones’ work outside of ‘Warcraft’ and have been dying to see more of this one. The initial stills, while beautiful, haven’t done the movie justice. You could say that even his visual work on ‘Warcraft’ could have played into helping with this as he had to learn quite a bit on developing certain visual styles and the look of ‘Mute’ looks to be quite important to the feel of the film.
