Well, as I often like to state before speaking about a “new” trailer, fair warning that this one is really just a rehash of trailers and footage for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ that we have already seen in the months leading up to the highly anticipated premiere, opening with footage from ‘The Force Awakens’ before repeating much of the first domestic trailer for ‘The Last Jedi. The key point of this trailer is the new location found for the first time within.
The location in question can be spotted BRIEFLY around 2 minutes in, and it is Canto Bight, which is being called the new “wretched hive of scum and villainy” in this movie and is reportedly a key location in the film. In the trailer, the shots where it is seen has some wolves (which do not look to me like the Vultpex seen early in the trailer, but I could be wrong) smashing through the windows of the place during some kind of attack. Clearly, the scene is going to see more action than just a quick drink and some negotiations for a ride to Alderaan.
For those curious about Canto Bight itself, according to the official ‘Star Wars’ website, Canto Bite is “a casino city and playground for the galaxy’s ultra-rich … filled with casinos, racetracks, and other expensive distractions.” Also, it says the city is on the planet Cantonica and we know that this is the location where we will find Benicio Del Toro‘s character in the film, though we do not know much else about him up to this point.
Check out the latest International Trailer for yourself below, and don’t forget to keep your eyes open for Canto Bight around that 2 minute mark! And as always, if you have any interesting theories about the new location or the film in general, feel free to share them in the comments below the trailer!
