The Apes are coming – and they are ready for their third installment of their of new films! With the impending release of the long-titled ‘War for the Planet of the Apes,’ director Matt Reeves is ready to put an emphatic end to this particular storyline in the reboot/prequel trio of ‘Planet of the Apes’ films. Following the “genesis” style of story behind the creation of intelligent simians, ‘War’ hasn’t definitively been listed as the final entry into this particular saga, but it has certainly been presented that way in the marketing arena.
In this new clip from the film, Bad Ape (Steven Zahn) is working with fellow ape Maurice (Karin Konoval) in a fairly dangerous situation (no spoilers here!); Bad Ape is no hero, though, so sometimes he needs a little “encouragement” in order to do his duty – something that Maurice is more than happy to provide, as you’ll see below:
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
