Spike decided to celebrate their upcoming series of Stephen King’s ‘The Mist‘ that they would be releasing not one but two new teasers for the series! This new take on King’s classic work which we’ve already seen in cinematic form has fans dying for more, and the network is starting to deliver just that. Thankfully, with the series set to debut near the end of the month, our wait won’t be that much longer!
The first of these teasers is introducing us to one of the characters as it wants us to “Meet Kevin Copeland.” In it we see actor Morgan Spector’s character introduce us a bit to the down of Bridgeville though primarily Kevin Copeland who is the main character in the series and “is the epitome of the modern, liberal and civilized man; devoted to his wife and teenaged daughter. Kevin lives his life by high moral values, and throughout his life, he has refused to give in to the anger and prejudice he sees in other people. However, with the arrival of the mist, Kevin’s moral compass will be put to the test for his and his family’s survival.”
You can check out the introduction here:
Speaking of the town itself though the second is a featurette that wants to give us a warm “Welcome to Bridgeville” and they describe the town as “a pressure cooker even before a mysterious mist rolls in. Get to know the residents and their stories before the premiere.” You can check out more of the town in the video right here:
Based on a story by Stephen King, Spike’s THE MIST has been re-imagined for television by Executive Producer and Writer Christian Torpe and produced by TWC-Dimension Television. The story centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
The series stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Dan Butler, Darren Pettie, Isiah Whitlock, Jr., Russell Posner, Luke Cosgrove and Frances Conroy.
The series is shaping up to be something that could potentially be the first solid Stephen King adaptation that runs for an extended period of time since ‘Haven’ on Syfy and with what looks to be better pacing and acting to boot as this has a more serious tone to it.
