Last week we saw some new details from ‘AMERICA‘ #1 being shared by Gabby Rivera and this week Marvel is further hyping the comic by giving us the variant covers as well as three panels from the first issue! Early word has the book following America Chavez enrolling in college in the same way that Squirrel Girl has but these first shots are showing a pretty action orientated curriculum and not actually laying back and taking some time to find herself as the descriptions have hinted.

Here is the description of the series that Marvel has shared:

As the new leader of the Ultimates, America has cemented herself as the preeminent butt-kicker of the entire Marvel Universe. But when your punch is enough to shatter the barriers between worlds, sometimes being a super hero can get in the way of self-discovery. So what’s a super powered teenager to do for a little fulfillment? She goes to college! …Right after she punches out a few interdimensional monsters and takes down a pesky alien cult.

Clearly, we’re still on the punching phase of things as you can see in these previews below:

I’m kind of curious as to if this is going to just end up being part of her life as a college student or if it will really get in the way of her responsibilities as a student and how seriously she’ll deal with that. Oh, and as mentioned she is the leader of the Ultimates and while this is a standalone series I can’t help but imagine that her intergalactic shenanigans will get in the way of things as well.

While we’ve previously seen three covers for the first issue, we’ve got four more variants to share with you today as well!

It would be too easy to say that this will follow in the steps of ‘Squirrel Girl’ but the personalities of these two characters are so different that I can’t imagine that we’ll see much crossover in story arcs.

Are you looking forward to ‘AMERICA’ #1? How do you think she’ll handle being on a college campus while not leading The Ultimates? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

‘AMERICA’ #1 will punch her way into comic shops on March 1st, 2017!
