Welcome back yet again to an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! Fall weather means the perfect time of year to hit your favorite toy stores and comic shops! We’re coming to you deep from within the holiday season, where there are more toys than you can shake a stick at! This week there were plenty of cool new reveals for some of our favorite lines, with lots of stuff in the pipeline for early next year while we scoop up all of the latest collectibles from the shelves this winter! As always, there is a little something for everybody in the Toy News for the week of December 6th, 2016!
Hot Toys Goes Rogue
We’re just a few days away from the release of the latest chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ saga (well, technically not a part of the main ‘saga’, but whatever, STAR WARS!), and the team at Hot Toys is just bursting at the seams with lots of cool new merchandise based on ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’! We’ve got an all new 1:6th scale figure of one of the film’s sure to be fan favorite characters, along with several new Cosbaby pieces to look forward to! There’s a little something for every ‘Rogue One’ fan! Check out the full releases from Hot Toys below-
Rogue One – 1/6th scale Chirrut Îmwe Collectible Figure
“I fear nothing. All is as the Force wills it.” Fans around the world are all anticipating the new adventure in a galaxy far, far away….as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is getting closer to release! One of the most exciting new characters introduced in this epic film is Chirrut Îmwe, a blind warrior monk from Jedha. Chirrut believes all living things are connected through the Force, and his profound spirituality makes him a formidable warrior crucial to the Rebels’ desperate attempt to steal the plans of the Empire’s devastating super-weapon – the Death Star.
After announcing a string of Imperial characters from the movie, Hot Toys is pleased to put the Rebels in the spotlight. Today we are thrilled to present the 1/6th scale collectible figure of Chirrut Îmwe! Specially crafted based on the character’s appearance in the movie, the extremely life-like collectible figure features a newly developed head sculpt, a meticulously tailored costume, detailed weapons and accessories including a staff and a crossbow, and a specially designed figure stand. Rogue One – Jyn (Imperial Disguise Version) & K-2SO Cosbaby
Everyone can put their past behind for a greater cause, like in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story where Jyn Erso, who comes from a checkered past, and K-2SO, a former Imperial security droid, find new purpose when they join the Rebels on a dangerous mission to infiltrate the Empire and steal the secret plans to the Death Star. Star Wars – Darth Vader Cosbaby Bobble-Head Series

Super7 M.U.S.C.L.E.s In On ALIEN
A few years back, the team at Super7 changed the face of collecting with the launch of the ReAction line that brought us brand new toys in a classic toy style based on fan favorite properties. Now they’re at it again with an all new wave of figures in their relaunched M.U.S.C.L.E. figures line with a series based on the 1979 sci-fi classic,’ ALIEN’! Super7 has previously done a wave of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures based on the ‘Masters Of The Universe license, so it’s exciting to see them expand upon this idea and brand! These are due to hit the market this month, just in time for the holidays!
NECA Teases More King Of The Monsters
Regardless of how many times we’ve watched him tear down a city, I don’t think the world will ever really get over just how cool ‘Godzilla’ is as a thing. The team at NECA certainly haven’t gotten bored of him yet either, as they tease a new sculpt for their upcoming ‘Godzilla: Resurgence’ Shin Godzilla figure! This figure is set to be 12″ long from it’s head to the tip of it’s tail! NECA has said we can expect more details regarding a release window for this figure soon.
“My Spidey-Sense Is Tingling!”
The team over at Mezco has released a full solicitation for their upcoming One:12 Collective Spider-Man figure! If you’re a big Spider-Man fan, this figure is a beauty and it certainly isn’t one to miss! As always, the One:12 Collective line takes all the detail of a 1:6th scale figure and shrinks it to fit 6″ scale, featuring real cloth costumes, interchangeable parts, and lots of great accessories! Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swings into the One:12 Collective! When young Peter Parker is inadvertently bitten by a radioactive spider he is infused with spider-like abilities; super strength, the ability to cling to surfaces and climb walls, and a “Spidey Sense” that allows him to react to impending danger. A Morphenominal Closer Look At New Power Rangers
We first saw these a few months back at SDCC, but now we’re getting a closer look at the new action figures from Bandai for the upcoming ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ film series reboot that hit’s theaters next year! Along with our five lead Power Rangers, we also get a look at the all new Alpha 5! So far the general fan response is that these toys look fairly underwhelming, but while they may not be as Mighty Morphin as you remember, there’s still something intrinsically cool about new Power Rangers merchandise!

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!

Oh, you thought that was all for Power Rangers this week? Last week we showed off some upcoming Power Rangers POP! Vinyls that we can look forward to soon, but this week Funko blew the lid off of the entire Power Rangers line of products that we can expect to see hitting stores in the new future! We can look forward to Power Rangers Dorbz, Pint Size Heroes, and even POP! Pens! These are due out in stores between December and January. Check out the full new line below-

As always, Funko is keeping things fresh and bringing us POP! Vinyls for all of the movies we don’t even know are our new favorites yet! This week Funko has announced POP! Vinyls for ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’! Both are set to hit stores this coming January, wich Kong being a 6″ super-sized POP! vinyl, and John Wick himself being a standard sized POP! with a special ‘Bloody’ chase variant!
Next Up In The Specialty Series Is…
Each month Funko releases two new pieces in their ‘Specialty Series’ of collectibles that are exclusive to specialty store retailers and are not sold at big-box stores! The two latest figures to join the line are a ‘Heroic’ Batgirl (which features a modern Batgirl sculpt with a classic blue and grey Batgirl color scheme) POP! Vinyl, and a ‘Fallout’ Adamantium Skeleton Perk Dorbz figure! These are due out in February!
Dorbz Won’t Slow Down!
While Funko’s POP! Vinyls may be their most popular line, Dorbz certainly aren’t far behind! The team at Funko revealed a ton of awesome new Dorbz products this week, so here is the full run down!
Walmart will be getting several exclusive new Dorbz figures, include Jasmine and Abu from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’, Zur En Arrh Batman and ‘Batman 66’ Batgirl, and Strawberry Shortcake with her friend Blueberry Muffin! These are due to hit Walmart stores exclusively any day now!
There isn’t quite a release date for it yet, but Deadpool fans can start looking out for a new Dorbz Ride featuring Deadpool with his Chimichanga truck!
And finally, Toys R Us us getting a series of exclusive Dorbz figures based on ‘Teen Titans Go!’! Toys R Us is getting these as a ‘”first to market” exclusive, which means they’ll be exclusive to Toys R Us for a few months then hit other stores later. This set is made up of Robin, Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg, and Starfire, along with chase variants for Robin and Beast Boy! One figure that will remain exclusively at TRU though is their exclusive ‘White’ Raven Dorbz! These are hitting stores now!
