The Doctor Is In

While it didn’t quite make it out to retail in time for the film’s initial release, this December Diamond Select Toys plans to release their all new ‘Doctor Strange’ 7″ scale Marvel Select figure! The newest figure in the Marvel Select line is based on Doctor Strange’s appearance in the recently released Marvel Studios live action film (which has been in theaters for just over a week as of the time of this writing)! It features a pretty spot on likeness of actor Benedict Cumberbatch and includes a diorama display stand and several interchangeable hands.

Time To ‘Defend’ Your Minimates

Spaghetti & meatballs, peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots… these are all great combinations, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a combination that goes together as well as Marvel and Netflix! They’ve got three hit series under their belt with ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Luke Cage’ and two seasons of ‘Daredevil’ (and lets not forget the upcoming ‘Iron Fist’, ‘Punisher’ and ‘The Defenders’ shows!), so it only makes sense that we should celebrate with some awesome toys based on these, right? Our friends at Diamond Select Toys are releasing two brand new Minimates box sets in stores this week based on the first two Marvel Netflix series, ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Jessica Jones’! Each of these sets includes four Minimates figures, with the ‘Daredevil’ set comprised of Black-Costume Daredevil, Wilson Fisk, Foggy Nelson, and Claire Temple; and the ‘Jessica Jones’ set including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Killgrave, and Trish Walker! These are set to hit stores this week!

“A Little Too Raph”

The team over at NECA have revealed full images of their upcoming quarter-scale ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Raphael figure! This figure is the second in the line of (presumably four) Ninja Turtles figures in this large scale that are based on the original 1990 film! The detail on this sculpt combined with these phenomenal looking paint apps means we are getting arguably the most screen accurate ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ figures ever made! Check out the full release from NECA for this upcoming Raphael figure-

“You are unique among your brothers, for you choose to face this enemy alone…”

NECA’s second 1/4 scale action figure from the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is the loner Raphael. Of all the Turtles, he struggles the most with anger issues and frequently butts heads with Leonardo. Raphael stands 16.5” tall and features 30 points of articulation, including double elbow joints, to fully showcase his mastery of the martial arts. The figure is highly detailed and entirely accurate to the movie, and comes with sai accessories, a slice of pizza (of course) and interchangeable hands.

Super7 Unveils ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Plans

At long last, fans can finally breathe easy knowing exactly what kind of awesome new ‘Masters Of The Universe’ products they can expect from the team at Super7! Earlier this year, Mattel announced the closing of it’s specialty collectors service MattyCollector, and the licensing of the ‘Masters Of The Universe’ brand being handed over to the team at Super7 to curate moving forward. We got a sneak peek at some of these items back at NYCC a few months ago, but now we’re getting a much more in depth look at the upcoming toylines for ‘Masters Of The Universe’ that will be coming from Super7 in the coming months! Each of these items are being made-to-order and listed for pre-order.

Starting things off properly, Super7 is delving into a new retro-styled figure line that is designed to look like and fit right in with the original 80’s ‘Masters Of The Universe’ toyline! The first figures being offered are based on ‘The Curse of Three Terrors’, which was a newly produced episode of the classic 80’s animated series that Super7 co-produced with Mattel! These vintage inspired figures bring characters from this new episode (the first new episode produced since 1985!) to life for your collection, including Possessed Skeletor, Terror Wolf, Terror Jaguar, and Terror Bat! Each of these 5.5 inch figures come packed with their own accessory on classic-styled blister cards.

And finally, last but far from least, Super7 has announced their official plans for their continuation of Mattel’s 6″ scale “Masters Of The Universe Classics’ line! They are currently planning to produce several ‘Ultimate Edition’ figures of fan favorite characters that include all alternative heads and accessories that have ever been produced all packaged together to give you the ‘Ultimate’ version of the character! Figures announced so far include He-Man, Skeletor, Faker, Teela, and Ram-Man.

ReAction Reverts

After a long and interesting ride, it looks like the fan-favorite ReAcion Figures line is changing hands once again and reverting back to it’s original manufacturers, Super7! Since 2013, Super7 had been collaborating with the team at Funko to breath life into this retro styled toyline. It’s had it’s ups and downs over the last few years, and with a few final releases trickling out, Funko has reportedly decided to move on from the line and allow Super7 to pick up the reigns once more. The final ReAction figures from Funko will be the upcoming ‘E.T. The Extraterrestrial’ line, which hits stores this holiday season. The official statement from Super7 is below-

November 10th, 2016 San Francisco, Ca. – Super7 Retail, Inc. and Funko, LLC are pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Super7 Retail will resume designing, manufacturing, and distributing ReAction Figures and related merchandise. Since 2013, Super7 has partnered with Funko to release the ReAction line to great success. Super7 will build on that success by debuting a variety of new and exciting ReAction Figures in the coming months and years. Funko will continue to focus on growing its core lines of pop culture-licensed collectibles and apparel into 2017 and beyond, including developing an all-new line of action figures produced solely by Funko. Super7 invites inquiries from wholesalers, retailers and licensees regarding Super7’s full-line of ReAction Figures.

Things Are Getting Stranger Still

A few weeks back we announced the plans for Funko’s ‘Stranger Things’ POP! Vinyls line, and a few of you noticed some characters missing from the line! Notably, one character who really should have been a part of the line is Will’s mother, Joyce Byers, and Funko has corrected this oversight by announcing her for release early next year alongside the rest of the ‘Stranger Things’ line!
