The cast of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ has dealt with their fair share of threats over the course of three seasons. From aliens to cyborgs to metahumans to their very own teammates, the heroes of this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have survived through a whole lot. But when Agent Phil Coulson and his team return to ABC for their fourth season, they’ll have more to contend with than the hot-headed Ghost Rider and some classic Inhumans. In fact, they will have to deal with something that some people find more intimidating than individuals with super powers: a headstrong politician with an agenda.
According to IGN, Parminder Nagra will join the cast of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ for a multi-episode role in the upcoming season. The actress is known for her roles in ‘The Blacklist’, ‘ER’, and ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ will play “a powerful political figure who is outspoken in her distrust of Inhumans and the threat they pose to society”. There is currently no word on whether Nagra’s character will be based on an existing Marvel Comics character, but she joins a venerable collection of newcomers to the show that already include Jason O’Mara as the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Gabriel Luna as the embodiment of the Spirit of Vengeance that happens to drive a badass Dodge Charger.
What do you think about the addition of Parminder Nagra to ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Do you think that she’ll be playing a pre-established character from Marvel canon or someone completely new? Let us know in the comment section.
