With the second season of ‘Supergirl‘ showing up on The CW instead of CBS there are going to be some changes and one of the big questions was whether Calista Flockhart (‘Ally McBeal’,’Brothers & Sisters’) was planning to return to the show. With the series now filming in Vancouver instead of Los Angeles where Flockhart lives, there was doubt whether she would relocate for Season 2. That change is now out the door as Flockhart is now confirmed to continue her role as Cat Grant in a “recurring guest star” position since it is too much travel for her to continue to be a regular.
It is unclear why at this time we won’t see Cat Grant walking around her company all that often but she could easily be away on business or just have us spend less time with her at work. According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, she’ll be around for episodes “when she can” and I’m sure that fans will just be thrilled to see her return to reprise her role even if only for a limited run in the upcoming season. In fact, she’ll be in the premiere episode when it airs on October 10th as well!
For those unfamiliar with the move, due to mixed ratings and reviews, CBS wasn’t set to continue the show but thanks to The CW loving all things DC they had found a way to bring the world of ‘Supergirl’ into their already existing televised universe of ‘The Flash‘, ‘Arrow’, and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’.
