Up until this year, Marvel Television and Netflix had not teamed up for a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Usually, that corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe reserves their biggest revelations for New York Comic Con. However, they certainly made it up to the True Believers on the West Coast by jam-packing their Thursday night event with a ton of new looks at their upcoming shows. Much to the surprise of everyone, not only did they release the first trailer for ‘Luke Cage’, but the House of Ideas also brought along teasers for ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘The Defenders’ as well. Although when all was said and done, they still dared to have one more trick up their sleeve.
On top of debuting previews for the next three MCU series on the popular streaming service, the panel confirmed recent rumors that ‘Daredevil’ would be renewed for a third season. Though no release date accompanied the announcement, it did come with a brief teaser featuring another bloody battle involving the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. If you weren’t able to attend the panel in person, you can check out the video courtesy of the Marvel Entertainment Twitter:

Regarding a timeframe for when we can expect Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear return for another chapter of his solo adventures, chances are that we’ll be able to binge it at some point in late 2018 or early 2019. Based on previous reports, we heard that ‘The Defenders’ would delay ‘Daredevil’ Season Three. We also learned that the second season of ‘Jessica Jones’ would shoot back to back with ‘The Defenders’, which means Krysten Ritter will essentially move directly from the massive team-up in the limited series to another round of cases with Alias Investigations. That would give Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie a short break between shows since they serve as showrunners on both ‘The Defenders’ and ‘Daredevil’. And should that break need to be longer, it’s possible that the Punisher spinoff starring Jon Bernthal from former ‘Hannibal’ writer and executive producer Steven Lightfoot could come before Matt Murdock’s next litigation also.
Of course, this is all purely speculation at the moment as neither Marvel nor Netflix have made their schedule beyond the release of ‘Luke Cage’ in September official. So as we wait for the answers to those questions and more, are you excited for another season of ‘Daredevil’? Do you think Elodie Yung’s Elektra Natchios will factor into Season Three? And what other characters do you hope to see alongside or against Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and the rest of the gang? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
