Suicide Squad Harley Quinn Margot Robbie

Harley Quinn and The Joker are probably the two characters most people are looking to check out when ‘Suicide Squad‘ is released and Margot Robbie is opening up a bit about the two. There are a lot of questions on how their backstory will be presented in DC’s cinematic universe and while they aren’t all revealed we do get some interesting tidbits to chew on.

First off, for those unfamiliar with Harley Quinn’s past, she was initially created as an extra in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ but fans loved her so much that she not only became a mainstay in the series but has moved into the comic realm and almost every other aspect of The Joker’s life as well.

Instead of being a soap opera actress or The Joker’s doctor in this one we learn that she had quite a different job prior to joining up with the Clown Prince of Crime but one that is rather fitting for her:

“She loves causing mayhem and destruction. She’s incredibly devoted to the Joker. They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway. She used to be a gymnast — that’s her skill set when fighting.”

As it looks like she might be following the comic version of Quinn and be turning away from The Joker, at the very least for her stand alone project, it will be interesting to see why her devotion may falter here. Of course, she might just stick being crazily in love with Batman’s foe for the entirety of her cinematic appearance.
