Back in February, Hayley Atwell landed another high profile gig at ABC. The actress was tapped  to star in the upcoming pilot from ‘Jessica Jones’ writer Liz Friedman called ‘Conviction’. But when this project was announced, many called into question the future of ‘Agent Carter‘ since it could be difficult to work on both at the same time. Now, it sounds like that won’t be much of a problem for Atwell since the future of her fan favorite show, along with the upcoming ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ spinoff starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, could be in jeopardy.

Recently, The Hollywood Reporter spotlighted the top ten pilots that have a good chance of being picked up next season. In this report, they briefly touched on ABC’s corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ has already been picked up for another season, ‘Agent Carter’ has moved from a possibility to “highly unlikely”. Atwell’s new pilot is said to have a lot to do with it, but the potential cancellation has more to do with the less than stellar ratings that the popular Marvel drama drew in during their sophomore season.

As for the new show ‘Most Wanted’, which is set to follow former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Bobbi Morse (aka Mockingbird) and Lance Hunter as they embark on their own adventures away from Director Coulson and company, things aren’t looking much better. Despite adding a few cast members back in March, the series apparently “has been cooling and some say it’s not considered the lock it once was”.

With these productions from the House of Ideas being up in the air at this point, that only leaves the comedy ‘Damage Control’ left to expand the MCU’s presence on traditional television. But for all we know, ABC’s loss could be Netflix’s gain as the streaming service has been known to rescue ill-fated projects in the past. Though they don’t really match tonally with the other Marvel shows on the platform, ‘Agent Carter’ and ‘Most Wanted’ could be an interesting juxtaposition to ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘The Punisher’, and the rest of the Defenders’ shows.

Are you disappointed to hear that it’s not looking good for ‘Agent Carter’ and ‘Most Wanted’ on ABC? Would you rather see the shows move to Netflix? Or do you hope that Marvel could make something work with the network? Sound off in the comments.
