Director Zack Snyder unveils some previously-unseen ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ footage in this behind-the-scenes video presented by one of the film’s partners Turkish Airlines. In the video, Snyder mentions the company’s slogan “Broaden Your World” and how it reflects the tone of the movie, which indeed broadens the world that Snyder established in ‘Man of Steel’ by introducing new heroes Batman and Wonder Woman, who may or may not see eye-to-eye with Superman.
There are no spoilers or big reveals, but if you are anticipating this movie, you’ll relish some added glimpses into this expanded world.
You can watch the clip below:
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
‘Batman V Superman’ is just step one of broadening this fictional world. In addition to Batman and Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa debuts as Aquaman. In 2014, we learned that Ray Fisher had been cast to play Cyborg, but there has been ZERO talk of his involvement since then. Even so, there is a ‘Cyborg’ movie slated for 2020, but there has been buzz that that will evolve into a ‘Teen Titans’ movie.
Affleck’s Batman pops up later this year in ‘Suicide Squad’, then in next year’s ‘Justice League – Part One’ before, reportedly starring in a solo movie in 2018. 2018 also sees an ‘Aquaman’ solo movie and ‘The Flash’. Then in 2019, ‘Justice League – Part Two’ arrives along with ‘Shazam!’, the first non-Justice League member to get a solo movie. And as stated, ‘Cyborg’ is due in 2020 along with ‘Green Lantern Corps’.
Warner Brothers is also reportedly working on ‘Justice League Dark’ and ‘Metal Men’ and possibly ‘Blue Beetle and Booster Gold’ and ‘Legion of Super Heroes’. And ‘The Sandman’, based on the Vertigo series has been in development for years now, but there’s no telling when it will actually materialize or if it will be part of the DCEU.
