With ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘ steadily pushing forward fans have been dying to know who will be the major villain in the movie and we may now know! Obviously if you’re hoping to go into the movie blind or at least wait until the first trailer drops you’ll want to turn back now. This could possibly be a major spoiler of either the bad guy who will need to be stopped or at the very least this could be a large cameo.
So who is being told will show up in the sequel that we’re all dying to see?
No, it isn’t Thanos. He won’t be popping up for awhile. Who we’re talking about is one of the bigger cosmic creatures out there which aren’t Galactus or larger than this one is about as big as you can get.
It sounds like there will be a very large appearance by Ego, The Living Planet. While they are claiming he will be the villain this isn’t the type of character which the Guardians would typically go up against. However, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Ego was created in the Black Galaxy and is a planet with a consciousness who is able to navigate space and gravity wells with ease. The creature uses antibodies to fight its battles and has had vastly different agendas over the years.
Honestly, if Ego does make an appearance I feel that he would be more of a subplot or cameo than who the Guardians will have to end up fighting. Still, with the film not being a prequel to ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ there will most likely be a limit on which cosmic characters could pop up.
