On Tuesday night, True Believers will be able to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe via ABC when ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ returns for their third season. We’ve already gotten a quick glimpse at the first episode thanks to the opening scene hitting the web last week, but now we have another look at the season premiere and beyond right here.
For starters, we have two new scenes from the episode ‘Laws of Nature’ courtesy of Spoiler TV. First, Director Coulson and Agent Daisy Johnson discuss the mysterious new organization targeting new Inhumans around the country as they pop up. Then, we see some tension between Mack and former Inhuman welcome wagon Lincoln, who is now trying to live a normal life after what went down at the end of last season. Finally, Agent Hunter still isn’t looking to deal with his ex-wife, Bobbi Morse. You can check out all three videos below, followed by the synopsis of the episode:
When Coulson and the team discover a new Inhuman, S.H.I.E.L.D. comes face to face with another organization searching for powered people. And still reeling from Simmons’ dramatic disappearance, Fitz goes to extreme lengths to try to learn how to get her back.
At this rate, we’ll get the whole episode before it airs. But not only do we have a look at the first episode, be we have still from the second one as well. Coming Soon shares these shots from ‘Purpose in the Machine’ that show us that an Asgardian returns to the show to help out Coulson and company figure out what happened to Simmons at the end of last season. Unfortunately it’s not fan favorite Lady Sif. Instead, we’re reintroduced to Peter Macnicol’s Professor Elliot Randolph, who appeared in the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ tie-in from season one titled ‘The Well’. You can see the pictures in the gallery below, followed by the episode’s official synopsis:
Fitz and the team enlist the aid of an Asgardian to unlock the secrets of the ancient monolith that swallowed Simmons, and Agent May is at a crossroads in her personal and professional life.
There’s definitely a lot to look forward to when ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ returns. For instance, who is this mysterious ATCU lead by Constance Zimmer’s character? Why are they targeting Inhumans? Will Lincoln help his old friend Daisy? And what’s the deal with Bobbi and Hunter? As we anxiously await these answers and more, share your thoughts and theories in the comment section.
