If you weren’t sure that ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter‘ was acutally going to end the series we have actress Ali Larter (‘Final Destination’,’Heroes‘) weighing in on the matter today. In ‘The Final Chapter,’ we’ll see Larter reprising her role of Claire Redfield for the third time having previously starred in ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ as well as ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife.’ Will the third time be the last time is what many want to know as we’ve had previous movies initially billed as the last installment in theis series.
While she isn’t allowed to say much about the upcoming film, here is what she could say:
“We are not allowed to say one thing. I am held to secrecy, but what I can tell you is that the script is amazing. They’re really wrapping up the whole series, so that just makes it a little more poignant. To be able to come back and reprise my role as Claire and my relationship with Alice, with Umbrella Corp. — you know, I’m excited to get back in it. I think the fans are just going to be beyond excited.”
I think the key phrase there is: “They’re really wrapping up the whole series.”
The seems to pretty much go in line with what others have hinted at as well as the movie title itself. I think this is just further confirmation that we’re finally seeing the live action ‘Resident Evil’ series come to a close. At least this iteration of it.
When asked about how she felt working on the series she mentioned that:
“How many movies have this kind of fanbase and get to be made six times? “I think that’s extraordinary. It’s a total testament to [series star] Milla [Jovovich] and Paul. I’m so grateful to them, that they chose me to be a part of it halfway through, and they’ve kept me along for the ride. I love that it’s not seven men and one woman. I mean, these are two women, and they’re not competing with each other. You know, there are such easy clichés these two could fall into, but this is definitely a female power movie.”
Love them or hate them we’ve gotten five fantastic popcorn flicks at the very least and soon we’ll be getting one more.
Do you think there is any chance they’ll be trying to find a way to continue the series, reboot it, or will this truly be the end? Share your thoughts below!
‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ will infect theaters on September 2nd, 2016.
