As the Netflix premiere of ‘Daredevil‘ approaches, the promotional blitz inevitably begins. As part of that blitz, series star Charlie Cox made an appearance on ‘Good Day New York.’

Most of the interview consists of Cox and the hosts indulging in the usual morning show small talk, much of which is only tangentially connected to the series itself. At one point in the conversation, Cox continues the tradition of hinting at Daredevil’s transition to the iconic red costume on the show – all without really confirming if or when the switch might be made. Eventually, the hosts introduce a clip from the series.

As for the clip itself, it presents a brief scene between Cox’s Matt Murdock and Claire Temple (aka Night Nurse), played by Rosario Dawson. Temple is seen in her apartment, tending to Murdock, who has clearly injured himself somehow while “on the job.” She mentions dragging him out of the garbage as he realizes that his mask is missing and begins to fret about his identity being exposed. Temple also takes a shot at his costume, to which Murdock replies that it’s “a work in progress.” As the show returns to the interview, the conversation briefly revisits the costume, as Cox explains that it is “initially” more of a makeshift outfit. While it is admittedly speculation, Cox’s remarks do dovetail nicely with prior suggestions that Daredevil will transition from the so-called ninja suit to some version of the classic red costume either late in the first season or early in the second.
