Activision has announced what will be included in the upcoming ‘Ascendance’ expansion for ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’.

The ‘Ascendance’ expansion will come with a variety of new multiplayer maps, a new weapon and the second chapter of the Exo Zombies mode. Additionally, a new Exo Grapple ability will be included as well.

The new maps in ‘Ascendance’ include Perplex, a map located in a modular apartment complex in Sydney, Australia; Climate, a man-made utopia with dynamic river that shifts its routes across various paths; Site 244, the location of a crash-landed alien space ship beneath mount Rushmore; and Chop Shop, a map set in a black market industrial complex.

In terms of weapons, players will be getting access to the OHM directed energy machinegun/shotgun hybrid, as well as its OHM Werewolf custom weapon variant.

The second chapter of Exo Zombies mode sees the return of celebrity cast John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan and Jon Bernthal as they keep pushing forward in their fight for survival against the undead. According to Activision, it will have “a robust arsenal of new traps and armaments.”

Lastly, for those who aren’t aware of the Exo Grapple ability, it is basically a grappling hook that allows players a quicker means of reaching strategic vantage points. It can also be used as a secondary weapon against opponents. Unfortunately, players are only able to use the ability in the maps included in the ‘Ascendance’ expansion.

‘Ascendance’ comes as a part of the ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ Season Pass, which is priced at $49.99. However, those interested in purchasing the expansion separately can do so for $14.99.

‘Ascendance’ will be releasing first on March 31 as a timed-exclusive for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is expected to release on PS3, PS4 and Windows PC one month later.
