2015 is quickly becoming the year that Marvel is going to completely dominate the toy aisles! The crew over at Marvelous News claim to have a few sources that have been following the trail of breadcrumbs to discover several new unannounced waves of Hasbro’s super popular 6″ scale ‘Marvel Legends’ figures that we will hopefully see hitting shelves later this year! That said, without any confirmation from Hasbro, this is all considered rumor for the time being; but it sure is fun to think about!

First up there’s word of a supposed Barnes & Noble Exclusive wave! One YouTuber has apparently discovered some items posted on the B&N website that look like listings for a new wave of Marvel Legends, and as they haven’t been spotted anywhere else yet it’s easy to see why some might think they’re set to be exclusives! It isn’t hard to see that as a possibility when you consider that B&N has been stepping up their game with collectibles in the last year or two, and that just last year drug store chain Walgreens had an exclusive Marvel Legends figure! Is it so hard to picture a much larger retail chain like Barnes & Noble snagging an entire wave of exclusive figures?  The supposed “exclusive” series is comprised of:

  • Blizzard
  • Dr. Strange
  • Hero Number One
  • Marvel Now Iron Man
  • Thundra
  • Valkyrie
  • War Machine

There’s currently no word on who the Build-A-Figure character will be (assuming there will be one at all), and ‘Hero Number One’ could literally be just about anybody. It’s kind of an odd listing, but it doesn’t seem like an impossible one when you figure that Hasbro has shown off both Blizzard and Valkyrie previously at conventions, yet never released them!

Besides the rumored B&N Wave, there’s also a rumored Ant-Man themed Wave of Marvel Legends supposedly coming our way! These were apparently found posted on Amazon for pre-order already, but again, the listings have no images or real details, so it’s hard to say whether they are legitimate or not. So far the figures that have been found listed are-

  • Ant-Man
  • Bulldozer
  • Giant Man
  • Grim Reaper
  • Tigershark
  • Wasp

There isn’t any word on whether Ant-Man or Wasp will be movie-styled or comic-styled, but it’s kind of odd to leave the villainous Yellowjacket out if this is indeed a movie themed wave of figures. It’s also weird that Giant Man is a standard sized figure, rather than the Build-A-Figure for the wave (although, how cool would it be if he WAS the Build-A-Figure, and they had a standard scale 6″ one also in the set so you could have shrinking effect for your display?).

As we mentioned earlier, we’ve seen a few of these figures shown off by Hasbro previously at events like NYCC or SDCC in previous years, before they apparently disappeared into obscurity without any sign of release, so maybe Hasbro is trying to get all of these previously planned figures out to the masses? There are plenty of people who would be happy to complete their 6″ scale Wrecking Crew with the release of that Bulldozer figure, not to mention Tigershark and Blizzard would be nice villainous additions! Still, until Hasbro confirms anything, these waves are both just rumors for now, so take this bit with a grain of salt and hope for the best!

Maybe we’ll find out more during New York Toy Fair in two weeks? Only time will tell!
