We’re just weeks away from the release of Michael Bay’s reboot of the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ so promotions have ramped up as usual. To attract the largest opening weekend crowd, more and more material is being cranked out to whet the appetites of the potential viewers. With that in mind, here’s two new videos have emerged that include loads of new footage.

In the first one, we get montages which highlight the four lead characters, Donatello (Jeremy Howard), Leonardo (Pete Ploszek, voiced by Johnny Knoxville), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) and Raphael (Alan Ritchson).   As we can see, the movie bounces between an urban New York setting and a more snowy location.  But we do get to see the characters in action.

Finally, here is a more typical trailer, but as stated, we get more new footage:

The biggest reveal in the second clip is that the Turtles were “created as weapons.”  This is a switch from the original storyline where they were simply accidents, actual turtles mutated by radioactive ooze (Fun fact, in the original comics, it was the same radioactive material that gave Daredevil his powers.)  I suppose there will be a conspiracy theory plot that reveals why and how the Turtles and Splinter were created.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

Starring Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Johnny Knoxville, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, Tony Shalhoub, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on August 8th, 2014.
