For over a year, Otto Octavius traded in his robotic arms for web-shooters in the pages of ‘Superior Spider-Man’ after he switched minds with his long-time adversary Peter Parker and left him for dead. But when the Green Goblin proved to be too much for the reformed villain, the one true web-slinger returned to take down Norman Osborn and his army. Parker’s life is back in full swing in ‘Amazing Spider-Man’, but with the ‘Spider-Verse’ event on the horizon that will see every Spider-Man ever make a return, we have not seen the last of the former Doctor Octopus. Now, we have the first look at the character’s comeback in the pages of ‘Superior Spider-Man’ #32 by Dan Slott and Christos Gage.

While Spidey is about to enter the fray of ‘Original Sin’, fans can see what’s in store for another version of the wall-crawler as Comic Book Resources offers an exclusive sneak peek at what happened to Doc Ock after he departed the land of the living in order to save New York City from becoming a Goblin Nation. Through what is probably a very complicated series of events, Octavius finds himself in the year 2099. Since their own Spider-Man Miguel O’Hara is stuck in the past, it’s possible that Otto will step up to become the Superior Spider-Man 2099. But until the issue officially drops next month and we get all the details, we’ll have to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the good doctor’s return. Luckily, we have these pages from Giuseppe Camuncoli to admire as we do so:

• SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN KICKS OFF THE EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE!

• Extra-sized monumental issue, including a story drawn by living legend ADAM KUBERT (ORIGIN 2, AVX)!

• How is the Superior Spider-Man still around? Where is he? What is he doing? The road to SPIDER-VERSE STARTS HERE!
