It feels like the casting for the reboot of the ‘Fantastic Four‘ is never coming to a close as we have another cast member just announced! Just the other day we found out that Tim Blake Neslson (‘Holes’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’) had joined the cast to play Harvey Elder who will end up as the Mole Man in a future installment. Today’s casting isn’t so much of a villain but the father of Michael B. Jordan (‘Chronicle‘, ‘Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox‘) as Johnny and Kate Mara‘s as Sue. That’s right, Reg E. Cathey (‘The Wire’, ‘House of Cards’) has been cast as Dr. Storm.

The film will be reuniting Cathey with the actors playing his children in the film. Both he and Jordan had previously starred on HBO’s ‘The Wire’, while he and Mara were recently both on the smash Netflix hit ‘House of Cards’. Cathey is a pretty great actor in everything I’ve seen him in and think that he’d not only play a great scientist, but would be a great addition to any film in the Marvel Universe. Even if it is the Marvel Universe created by Fox. I’m sure his interaction with his in-movie family will only be helped from having had a chance to have worked with the two before, though I’m not sure how well he actually had a chance to meet them.

Are you looking forward to see Cathey and his children interact on screen? Will he be a cold-hearted father or a loving one that convinces Sue to follow in his footsteps? Share your thoughts below on what you think about the latest casting news from Marvel’s First Family!

‘Fantastic Four’ stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bellm and Toby Kebbell  and hits theaters on June 19, 2015.
