Paramount Pictures has released yet another Japanese trailer, this time for ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction.’
After a brief introduction from Mark Wahlberg, who addresses the Japanese audience with the film’s international title- ‘Transformers: The Lost Age.’ Japan will enjoy an August release date, and as Mark says, they will see effects like never before.
I realize Wahlberg is bandwagon fodder, meaning everyone says “hey, that guy’s a great actor,” but I have to admit, I like the guy. I’m not certain what it is exactly, but something about his acting appeals to me. It’s genuine, relaxed, not forced like you see so often.
Regardless of my personal opinions, the trailer alone should convince you of his talent. Not to mention the fact that he’s a devoted family man, asking that his kids get cast in the film because they were all Transformers fans!
The story is set to take place four years after the final battle in Chicago, from ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon‘
The trailer starts us off with Wahlberg’s character (Cade Yeager) once again hauling in some more junk… much to the chagrin of his daughter. But he soon discovers this is no ordinary salvage! Somehow, a militant group discovers that Optimus Prime has been found and is now on Yeager’s property. Old school animated series fans will enjoy the little homage from Prime as he takes on his original alternate mode, a cab-over truck.
Obviously, this does not go well and Prime defends Yeager and his family. “The age of the Transformers is over,” the trailer says, and Stanley Tucci’s character Joshua says “we don’t need you.” Well then, that’s rather ungrateful. But as it turns out, of course, we do need them! Check out the trailer, and see for yourself!
‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ will be released in theaters on the 27th of June, 2014.
