After Marvel’s latest One-Shot starring Ben Kingsley titled ‘All Hail The King’ was released, True Believers caught a few hidden Easter eggs that may have hinted at some future characters coming up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First of all, Seagate Prison plays an important part in Luke Cage’s origin story, but some inmates were recognizable as Marvel villains. For instance, there was Fletcher Heggs, who eventually goes on to become the Knight of the assassin group known as The Chessmen. But who would have thought that White Power Dave would be the one to make a comeback in an upcoming Phase Three film?

According to Deadline, Matt Gerald of ‘Avatar’, ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’, and ‘Escape Plan’ has signed on to play the villain of Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish’s ‘Ant-Man’. Similar to every other casting announcement for this movie so far, details are being kept heavily under wraps, so it’s not even certain if he’ll reprise his role as White Power Dave or if he’ll lay the main villain of the film. However, if he does reprise, I’ll bet that they change his origin story a bit to give him an established super-powered alter ego, similar to what they did on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ with Deathlok/Mike Peterson.

Gerald joins an impressive cast that already includes Michael Peña, Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson, and Corey Stoll, but we don’t really have any hints as to who each of them are playing. All we know for certain is that Paul Rudd is Scott Lang and Michael Douglas is Hank Pym. Otherwise, speculation continues as to who will be included in the Scientist Supreme’s MCU debut.

Who do you think Matt Gerald will play in ‘Ant-Man’? Do you think that he’ll step back into the role of White Power Dave or do you think he’ll play someone entirely different? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

‘Ant-Man’ starring Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
