The worlds of every X-Men fan around the globe was rocked recently when ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ was announced by Bryan Singer. But before that can happen, we must remember that the highly anticipated (and very expensive) ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ will come first. After getting glimpses of the film here and there ever since San Diego Comic-Con, now we have yet another new look at something from the film based on the acclaimed storyline from legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont.
On the cover of the latest issue of Studio Cine Live, you can get a good look at the new costumes that the team will be sporting in Singer’s return to the Fox franchise. The all black stealthy looking suits are being modeled by Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen, however, you can see the details of the suit best on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who stands front and center. You can see this cover below:
It’s not exactly the classic brown and yellow suit used by Logan from the comics that nearly made it into ‘The Wolverine’, but then again, Singer has never really been one to stick with the costumes from the source material. The filmmaker’s take on the outfits have always been function over fashion, so I can’t really say that these new suits surprise me. Plus, we’ve known since Comic-Con that new outfits would be in play thanks to some character portraits featuring Colossus, Bishop, and the older Magneto and Professor X released back then.
What do you think about these new costumes from ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’? Are you in favor of the function over fashion approach to these characters or would you rather see something straight from the pages of Marvel comics? Share your thoughts in the comments.
‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ hits theaters on July 18, 2014.
