Though the con technically started on Thursday, ScienceFiction.com started its New York Comic Con 2014 adventure on Friday. While our day was totally filled with great interviews and panels (which you should definitely stay tuned for), we managed to sneak off in between things in order to take a little time to admire some of the great cosplay action that this con had to offer.

Keeping in line with our previous con coverage from this year’s Dragon Con and San Diego Comic Con, we bring you some of the coolest cosplay from our days at NYCC. Just from walking around for less than an hour, we laid eyes on some extremely creative and very well put together costumes today. Check out some of the best ones we saw on our first day in the gallery below courtesy of Ian Neisser and The Pretentious Film Majors:

Despite not being a very big fan of Aquaman, I liked the version of the King of the Ocean and his bride Mera that we ran into. The White Castle Keyblade wielder struck me as odd, but it made me smile. The Rogue/Playboy Bunny mashup made me smile too. But by far, my favorite of the day was the excellent ‘Assassin’s Creed’ cosplayer. The whole package was just incredibly impressive.

What do you think of today’s haul of cosplay pictures? Which ones are your favorites? Did you attend the con on Friday and see some great cosplay that you want to talk about? Let us know all about it in the comment section.
